Did you know?(Jesus lineage and truth of his birthplace)

The place where Jesus was born (Bethlehem) was once called
Ephrath?Ephrath is the name Jacob gave to the place where his wife
Rachel died.

Jacob was the son of Isaac and Isaac the son of Abraham and Abraham.

Some of us may wonder why all this stuff I have written if you aint
non-christian. The truth is that we are near the eve of
christmass!!Here is a brief but long insight on Jesus lineage.

Abraham ''father of faith''
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Abraham was the father of Isaac whom the Lord our God asked to
sacrifice Isaac his only child.Something unique about Isaac was that
he was born when the parents(Abraham and Sarah) were in their late
90's. This was after Abraham had asked and prayed to God in earnest,
many years, relentlessly, for a child.

After some time, when Isaac had grown older, the Lord asked Abraham to
offer his only son for
Him.Isaac without any opposition although feeling hurt went ahead with
the ceremony.N/B:in the Old Testament(part of Bible before Jesus life
and ministry begins i.e new testament).Just when holding a knife to
kill the boy, God's angel stopped him.It was a test of faith for which
God appeared to him in a dream and named him ''the father of faith and
blessed his descendants, for whom the Lord promised salvation from the
Egyptians(that is where Moses comes in to rescue the Israelites).''

Jacob's blessings
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
Isaac's sons were Jacob and Esau.Jacob was a good cook whereas Esau
was a hunter. One day Esau came home hungry from hunting and needed
food.Jacob refused but only accepted his birthright so Esau sold his
birthright to Jacob.Later, Jacob who had no hair before his father's
death, wore hairy skin to pretend to be Esau and was given all
blessings, a trick which the mother pointed out.

Jacob was termed by God as Israel and became the father of 12 sons
which form Israel today. It was then Jacob's wife Rachael who died when
they were travelling, at a place he named Ephrath which is
Bethlehem,the birthplace of Jesus.

King David achievements
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
From there, Jesus descended from King David who was the greatest king
ever to live in Israel. It is King David who won victories against
Israel's enemies and who's heart was almost as God's but not, becaused
he had killled many in war .Other acts of David include killing the
giant Goliath with a small stone and sling whilst still a teenager
N/B: (after all Israelite soldiers had feared such a giant) and
killing lions and predtors trying to feed on his father's sheep at a
young age.

King Solomon achievement
'''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
The lineage of David bore great Kings and men such as King
Solomon,David's son whom God gave wisdom and riches which God claimed
that none in the face of the earth would reach. His books in the Bible
include proverbs, psalms and songs of solomon.Hint: a must read in
order to be wise.

Jesus then through Joseph in the New Testament was a descendant of
King David. These are the reasons from the background why Jesus is
termed as the King, and Son of God.He came from a lineage of kings and
God chosen men.

I have compiled all these stories from the Bible so that readers to
appreciate and understand Jesus as a person.Just as all great people
came from great personalities e.g. Obama's father,Jesus too came from
very great men in the world.

My recommended book is Revised Standard Bible.Book of Exodus and Kings
or just google the great names mentioned in their order.
